Surf lessons for intermediate surfers.

What to expect

By the end of the week, you will be able to ride a green wave. You will be able to paddle outback, choose a green wave, paddle onto it, make a bottom turn and kick-out.

Who is this course for?

Level 2 is for surfers who are able to ride the whitewater comfortably and would like to take their surfing to the next level, riding the green wave and learning how to curve and turn.

What you will learn

  • How to paddle out independently by using push-up or turtle roll techniques
  • Catch a green wave. Sit and spin, using your feet as rudders, choose the correct green wave and paddle on to it
  • Take off and drop in. Stand up in a single movement with the correct stance, then drop into the bottom of a green wave.
  • Performing basic maneuvers, bottom turns, soft snaps …

  • Knowing priorities, being in control of your board at all times
  • Where the waves come from. Knowing the weather patterns that generate swell, understanding the ripple effect, being able to read a surf forecast
  • Etiquette: respecting locals, understanding rules of priority, knowing not to drop-in on a fellow surfer
  • Wave types: knowing the 3 wave types: reef, point and beach breaks.
